Prednisolone

Prednisone is a prescription corticosteroid intended for the treatment of certain health conditions as prescribed by your doctor. It is efficient in the treatment of a wide range of diseases that affect your skin, kidneys, eyes, blood, lungs, stomach, intestines and blood. Before you start the treatment it’s very important that you discuss with your health care provider any health conditions you have ever been diagnosed with, including high blood pressure, eye infection, liver, kidney, intestinal, heart, or thyroid disease, ulcers, seizures, diabetes, osteoporosis, tuberculosis, threadworms, myasthenia gravis, or any mental illness. If there are any other conditions you have but they are not mentioned here – let your doctor know about them as well to make sure he has the full picture. Although most patients seem to handle this medicine pretty well, others experience some mild and short-lived symptoms that you are supposed to know about. The most commonly experienced ones include insomnia, headache, acne, mood swings, bulging eyes, decreased sexual desire, heartburn, weak muscles, increased sweating, increased hair growth, extreme tiredness, irregular menstrual periods, dizziness, and fragile skin. If you develop any new symptoms not mentioned here, or the ones you had change in intensity and become severe – call your health care provider for professional advice.
